Guide: brake lights & turn signals
Set it frame by frame, check all 2D cameras, start at the first visible frame. Changing one frame mid-scene changes all frames after it, so re-check the following frames.
Brake light
On: stop lights lit red because the car is braking (usually seen from the back, on some models also from the side).
Off: car seen from the back or side and the stop lights are not lit.
Unknown: car seen from the front or side and no brake light visible, or seen from behind but the lights are occluded.
Partly hidden: both lights visible → judge On/Off. Only one visible → still judge On/Off (one is enough). None visible → Unknown, do not guess.
Tail light is not a brake light. Tail lights on does not mean brake light On.
Brake lights are likely On when approaching an intersection, about to turn, stopping before a crosswalk, on a speed bump or in congestion.
Judge each vehicle on its own: the front car can be Off while the cars behind it are Unknown.
Turn signal
Left / Right: signalling on that side. Keep the value on every frame while it signals, including dark frames of the blink.
Hazard: both indicators flashing. Check the frames around it to tell it apart from a brake light: hazards flash over a wider range of frames. Keep Hazard on the dark frames too.
Off: indicators visible and the car is not signalling.
Unknown: indicators occluded, too far or too pixelated. Also Unknown when one light is visible and off while the other is occluded.
Still unsure? Check every camera and the frames around it, then ask your QM or LQM.
